And the colts roll
Colts looked pretty sharp last night... still some trouble running the ball, and the turnover early... a great stand defensively also... love the colts' swagger this year... and Collie has his breakout game... must be cool to be a 23 year old kid catching 2 TD's on national television from the one of the greatest QB's in the game.
Colts going into the bye next week before really hitting the meat of their schedule... a 3 game home stretch that includes baltimore and new england.
Who knew the hawks had the goods to shut out Jax 41-0... what an embarrasment.

Looks like the road to the Super Bowl for the AFC will go thru Indy this year. Just beware of my Cardiac Cats in Cincinnati!!!

I'm pleased to see cincy at 4-1... I am just not sure how 'for real' they are... all of their games have been extremely close, and didnt they almost lose to Cleveland?

Re: And the colts roll
True. But my rebuttal is that whenever the Bengals and Browns play each other, you can pretty much throw out their records and the how-well-one-team-is-playing-versus-the-other scenario b/c these 2 teams know each other pretty well and what they're going to be doing. And it's a rivalry game. That's my story and I'm stickin to it.
Re: And the colts roll
The Colts look like the best team to me right now. Manning is as good as ever, which makes me think it's more about his ability than the receivers he has. If their defense keeps it going, they will be very good.
Regarding the Bengals, who would have predicted that both them and the Broncos would be undefeated after that wild first game?

Re: And the colts roll
the Bagels are 4-1 I think... all of their games decided in the Last minute of play.
It was exquisite pleasure to see the Pats lose a heartbreaker to the Broncos... but in the grand scheme of things it might have helped the Colts' cause more if the Pats had won... I think the Broncos sit atop the AFC through some NFL tie breaking scheme voodoo...

I hope the Broncos burn those ugly brown unis they wore yesterday! (Don't have time to post a pic)
Re: And the colts roll
Yes, they are 4 and 1. What I meant was since the 1st week when the the Broncos beat the Bengals on a freakish play, neither have lost a game.Pez wrote:the Bagels are 4-1 I think... all of their games decided in the Last minute of play.

aha... my bad... the stokely TD... I forgot all about that...
Their schedule doesnt look too bad either... the only stoppers I see (aside from the bagels themselves) are week 7 vs Chicago, week 9 baltimore, week 14 minnesota, week 17 NY Jets...
the colts have two tough games left... they should be 8-0 going into the week 10 matchup with NE (STL, SF & Houston after the bye). The Past will always play us tough, and there are mental issues with the colts and the Past... follow that by a road game in baltimore... if the colts make it to 10-0 for week 12 we should run the table, except maybe a tough game against the Jets week 16...

Don't overlook Houston, they can put the points up on the board.
Ugoh sucks at left tackle. Ok, he's decent at run blocking but he is a revolving door when pass blocking. I like how the defense is playing this year. As a team, the D is so fast compared to the competing offenses.

A colts Defense to is like Terrell Davis was to John Elway... the missing piece that delivers the ring... it sucks that we spent so much on Ugoh... I have to admit that he did look like complete crapo early In the game, but he improved later... Same with Jennings... when he ran into TJ Rushing on the fair catch (they charged Jennings with the fumble) I thought we were going to be in for a long night... but he (almost) redeemed himself later in the game... he's still a huge liability at corner... lacey can't come up fast enough.
You think Sanders will be back after the bye? I'm pretty sure if he isnt this will be the last year the Colts are associated with him. 37 million is a lot of freacking money for 8 games a year... Sure, he was DPOY once, but Bullitt is serviceable, and costs a hell of a Lot less...

This has nothing to do with the Colts but I didn't think it was worthy of a whole new thread. Just found it interesting.

Safety is a huge position in the NFL. I'd say 6 out of 10 plays, a safety runs from 15+ yards away mostly untouched and makes a hit. This brings alot of injuries with the position. I hope they find a way to sign Bethea this offseason and keep Bethea/Bullit/Sanders all together. The Bob traveled to Tenn on Sunday night, so I expect him to play against the Rams after the bye. Maybe in a limited role as a warm up for the meat of the schedule. (Hou, NE, @Bal, @Hou, Tenn, Den)

Re: And the colts roll
Agree the safety is a tough position and prone to injury, but a safety that is only playing 8 games a year isnt helping anyone... I would love for Sanders to come back, play out the season and all of next season, but geez man, he needs to figure out how to play within his limits, because despite how good he is, staying healthy is a small part of his job that he is failing at... he just doesnt warrant the cash we are coughing up for him anymore...
bandwagon, I jumped off...
Agree that we are getting to the meat of our schedule, looking forward to some tough tought games and thed colts winning all of them, Muaaahahahaha

Pez, how dare you question the Bob at that other place. The best answer is summized in post #13 over there. Every team should have 3 quality safeties, and then a couple of servicealbe backups at hand. I would bet on 75% of the defensive plays a safety runs from 10+ yards and makes a full speed hit. Those guys take a beating. The Bob will be back, and he might cure cancer on his way.

I heard that the Chinese government asked that Bob Sanders leave north America for the game. His mere presense would make all their ice skaters spontaneously hit puberty.
