McCains Balanced Budget Plan Empty McCains Balanced Budget Plan

Ok ... I spent last night googling trying to figure out his plan to balance the budget. He has said that he would balance the budget AND resolve Social Security by the end of his first term. That is all on the record. Has anyone seen here the math for this? He is now taking the George Bush Senior approach and saying "NO NEW TAXES...PERIOD, NONE" that is a quote. So how is going to balance a budget that for fiscal year ending October 2008 will be $490 billion dollars in the red. So far I have gotten that he is going to cut ear marks. That is it ... stay in Iraq for 100 years @ $10 Billion a month, NO tax increases and cutting earmarks.

Come on people talk about fuzzy math!!!!!!

Do you people drink this Kool-aid?

I heard on the news last night one economist say that if McCain is elected look for the market to tank even worse because the market will react to 4 more years of Bush economic policies.

Wonderful ... glad you guys think we need 4 more years of this shit.

Hey I got it right in 2000 and voted for Gore, yep I got it right in 2004 and voted for Kerry and now I am pretty positive that I have it right again this time, Obama in 2008.

Gotta give the guy props people, he was wonderful on his overseas trip, you could see the American approval rating surging forward with every step he took. We would not need an American surge in Iraq, if Obama was President the world would be following us and standing side by side with us, but our Cowboy diplomacy has hurt.

Ok, so I didn't read your whole post, way too long, plus I couldn't get past the first line. NFL and college football season is knocking on the door. The MLB pennant races are exciting. And this is what you spend your free time doing?

I know Irish ... and I know I am CONSUMED this time. 3-4 meetings per week and having skin in the game this time has caused me to become OBSESSED with this stuff.

Once college football starts I will lower the intensity level a bit, gotta watch my Buckeyes on Saturday and ESPN Game Day with Kirk Herbie! lol

I haven't seen McCain's math figures, nor have I seen Baracks. However, McCain is proposing CUTS in the budget in order to reach a balanced budget. His original idea on Social Security was to cut back benefits before raising the tax, now he is considering alternatives because he's getting feedback that butting benefits isn't all that popular whereas raising the tax on upper income earners isn't as big of a deal. But from what I've gathered his first option is still to cut benefits and NOT raise taxes.

As for fuzzy math though, you're really grasping at straws on this one when your messiah has the fuzziest math of any candidate in years (well.. after Hillary that is).

BTW.... I like how you are leaving out that basically every single economist thinks raising taxes when the economy is slow is a HORRIBLE idea.. which is exactly what your boy BO wants to do and many believe it will throw us deep into a recession. Look at Wall Street, they are already dreading the idea of him getting elected because he's going to kill the market. The uber rich that he's getting to go with him (Warren Buffet) don't care because it's pretty easy to take a million plus dollar tax hit when you're making billions. Not to mention ol' Warren is trying to give away all his money as it is. Hell, even Jim Cramer isn't that hot on the tax ideas and he's a socialist for all political purposes.

Funny ... I quoted an article a couple of days ago that said "Wall Street would panic if McCain was elected on fears of 4 more years of Bush fiscal policy" ... hmmm

Warren Buffet MUST be wrong.

Bman.... Why hasn't Featherhead joined over here? With college football season approaching I will miss his great ramblings on why ND doesn't suck as they have another losing season. And how the service academies are such great football power houses that ND plays.

FeatherHead has not joined for several reasons ...

1) He thought he was spending too much time posting on a message board and worrying about what people would think of his posts that he felt like he was avoiding his family.

2) If he would have kept on posting our friendship would have been in jeopardy.

3) He felt like everyone got sick of his ANTI-globalwarming posts. lol

we still talk daily and get into some heated arguments ... he was just back in town a couple of weeks ago with his wife and kids to visit his wifes family.
