Hoping Indiana gets this law. No driver's license in Denver car gets impounded.

Of course it looks like the city council was against it. Wonder how many of them will be around the next time there re election comes up.

To that I would add, No Car Insurance also gets the car impounded.

cheers cheers cheers

(of course I'm biased about that...my mom was hit by an uninsured motorist 20 years ago, causing a very serious accident. Not only was the lady uninsured, she fled the scene. Luckily a witness followed her and got her license plate!)

I was rear ended by an uninsured driver who never even got a ticket, nor was I able to sue him, which left me unable to work and eventually I had to file medical bankruptcy (long story, but yes I had uninsured motorist on my policy)

Well that just bites the big one. Everthing I've ever heard is that in an accident where you're hit from behind, it's the driver that hit you that is at fault for failure to maintain a safe distance.

True, and if you rear end someone because someone rear ended you, it can be your fault (not in all cases though, speed of original driver is a big factor)

Sounds like a reasonable set of laws. I would like to see it adopted (as well as the insurance requirements) in other states as well.

I dont disagree with this... the $2500 bond to get your car back will start selling a lot of cheap used cars.
