Thank goodness you're OK. Do you have friends/family that were affected? Is it unusual to see tornado's that far north?

Glad you are safe also... I too am surprised to hear of Tornadoes that for north. Tornadoes are amazing to me, the destruction brought on by just the intersection of warm and cool air... It reminds us that despite our best attempts oitherwise, we are not really in control as much as we would like to be.

A friend of mine from work, his in-laws house is damaged.

We've seen funnel clouds here and there, but I don't know of any that touched down in this area.
I think about 20 years ago a tornado hit even further north.

It was crazy, I think about the time that was all happening I was sitting in my car in my driveway waiting for the rain to ease up. It didn't, so I got soaked.

The next day when I was driving to work I saw the house with no roof, that was two minutes from me. Then I noticed all the damage on the other homes in that same area, kinda went down a line.

Then the other one was about 20 minutes from me, where they had the cars and stuff in the parking lots all over the place.

wow canuck..quite the mess there! glad you and yours are ok. what a nice community..the first reporter said nobody took up the offer of shelters..freinds and family helped everyone who needed it!
