San Francisco schools get rid ot JROTC. Why because they are afraid it is a recruiting tool. Most stupid excuse yet. Wow a whopping two out of 1465 joined the military the last school year. Wonder how many joined without going through JROTC?

It's a broader issue about the Bush administration and military recruiting through JROTC," said board member Eric Mar. Some board members also objected to the U.S. military's "don't ask, don't tell" mandate that excludes openly gay men and women from the military, although the JROTC program is open to everyone.

"It's clear with the military, if you're gay and out, you don't get the same opportunities," he added.
