Re: Voted ??????
Done!!! iberlingirl, make sure you give yourself enough time. We always get to the polls about 5:50 a.m. and are usually in the first dozen of people. Today we went earlier just in case and there was a pretty big line ahead of us. My roommate ended up trading places with someone in front (his carpool mate who has the day off) to make sure he could vote and I caught a ride home with a neighbor. Turn-out will probably be crazy if early voting and what I saw this morning is any indication. Not counting the time I waited before the polls opened; it took me about 40 minutes which isn't too bad but considering I'm usually out of there by 6:15 added to the huge line behind me when I left... it's gonna be big day!

Re: Voted ??????
I showed up at 5:45 and the parking lot was full, maybe 30 people in line... I was out by 6:15, and there were easily 150 people in line... Overall, I was impressed by how fast they moved through the line...

We'll see, the precinct is a small, tucked away neighborhood church. I've never had more than 2-3 people in front of me. I live about 3 blocks from there, if I wait too long, just might have to call it a day.

Voted a week or two ago by Absentee ballot. Don't have to deal with lines, annoying people, etc...

Re: Voted ??????
Done. Got there at 7am, and was out at 7:45am...There were probably about 40 people there when I arrived, and had definitely dwindled down by the time I left.
Re: Voted ??????
My voting place was very unorganized. I went to the Innovation Center on the northeast corner of Stellhorn Rd. and Hobson Rd. They only had 3 voting machines, which is kind of odd because there is a large population in my area. I don't think the guy at the first desk knew his alphabet. The old guy in charge was more concerned about the number of people who have voted rather than getting some orginization to the lines. After I signed the book, everyone just waited in a big group, no lines until the people waiting grabbed some chairs and tables and lined them up to make lines. I got to the place at 6:50 and was out at 7:50. Not too bad, they just weren't organized at all.

Sounds like you got lucky. Went by a church on St Rd 3 near Huntertown, parking lot packed and people way out the door and through the parking lot.
I voted about 9am this morning, a bit of a line but not bad.

Re: Voted ??????
I drove by my precinct during my lunch hour. There was no line out the door so I guess that's a good thing. Hopefully I can get in and out after work without much hassle.

You might be able to thanks these people who waited for 2 hours or more at the city/county building and aren't voting today.LTRT wrote:What's all this commotion about long lines? 3 machines with 2 voters waiting...

Seriously, did these people, thousands according to the article, feel like they had to come in on the last day and vote early for some reason?

Nah, no luck involved. We've been going to this place for 7 years now and that's the way it always is.
I did ask how many at opening, a lady told me maybe 20...wow that's busy.
