Witnesses said the surging throngs of shoppers knocked the man down. He fell and was stepped on. As he gasped for air, shoppers ran over and around him.

"He was bum-rushed by 200 people," said Jimmy Overby, 43, a co-worker. "They took the doors off the hinges. He was trampled and killed in front of me. They took me down too...I literally had to fight people off my back."

So sad.....

All for some flipping cheap crap on sale.

Don't be surprised to see a lawsuit filed on behalf of the worker and Walmart agree to pay out a couple of hundred G's.

PALM DESERT, Calif. - Two people were shot to death in a crowded toy store on Friday in a confrontation apparently involving rival groups, city officials said.

Palm Desert Councilman Jim Ferguson said police told him two men with handguns shot and killed each other. Ferguson said he asked police whether the incident was a dispute over a toy or whether it was gang-related. He said police told him they were not going to release further details until the victims' relatives were notified.

I was talking to a friend of mine over the weekend about this, and he brought up a great point (regarding the Wal Mart worker). He said it's sad that in some countries people line up for food each day (bread, rice, etc.) and are very orderly about it...and we Americans have a store worker killed over the craziness that is Black Friday. Those that contributed to the death of that worker just make me sick to my stomach.

I thought Mike Galanos and the 2 accompaning people with him pretty much summed up the mentality of these people in their reporting of the story. The first 50 seconds of the video says it all.
