i agree it seems like a bad tactic..but if i calculated right his new payments will be 32,400 annually and counting just his income that would leave 4,860 annually to cover all other bills. i can kinda see a degree of wisdom..and he does recognize what it will do to his credit rating. i think it was probably long-thought-out. and battling the encroachment of lesser "quality" elements probably had a whole lot to do with it. a few years after the foreclosure is completed it wont hurt him that much. i suspect politically it may not be as much a detriment as the article implies.
