amazing to see the speed of the water rising, and then receding, on cable news. sad situation.

maybe they can just throw a bunch of teabags out there and soak up all that water?

All kidding aside, it is pretty sad. Sad that some areas get hit with more rain than they can stand and other are left in drought-like conditions.

Hope there wasn't severe damage.

Horrible to see.... an entire elementary school is under water to the roof... what a nightmare trying to figure out what to do with the kids, where to send them while the school is dealt with.

Wasn't this the same area that was hit with a drought not too long ago, and some official (governor? mayor?) was praying for rain? Sad bit of irony there.

This is the same area that was hit with the gasoline shortage. We have an office down there and the guys were saying that for about 3 months gas was (if you could find a station that had any) around $6 per gallon and you had to wait up to hours in line to get any.

Remember to thank God for any unanswered prayers today eh?
