Well, the fact that this person saw it fit to make these two children leave the bus demonstrates a high level of ignorance and racism.
That person should be fired on the spot. I don't think it is any different than sexual harrassment, for example in my company, if someone overhears a sexual or racial comment being directed to another person and they complain to HR, that person making the comment would be fired on the spot.

If McCain had won and children were asked to leave the bus for saying his name, it would have made news too. And it would be equally wrong if that was the case.

When America still judges someone by the colour of their skin, I am sure you will hear about it on the news everytime a racial comment is caught by the news.
That's not to say that all americans do that.

Wait a minute. This is certainly off-the-wall behavior by a bus driver and she should be punished. But for those of you saying it's racial (and at least one of the parents on the video made reference to it), where did you get that? All we know is the driver has some weird issue with Obama.

from what i saw over the last several months, especially the last few, with interviews of (not always) southern people who said they would never vote for obama because of his abortion stance or because of his possible ties to muslims or terrorists, if they talked a little to the interviewer it was clearly unsaid what the other reason was they wouldnt vote for him. bless their ignorant bigoted little hearts...

Actually, without any additional info re: the bus driver, my opinion is that it's his bus. If a kid acts up and he tells them to shut up and sit down, they'd better do it. He dropped them off at the high school, big freakin' deal.

I don't understand a seemingly popular trend to make society conform to the perspective of an 8 year old child. Tell them what is expected, tell them what you expect. Tell them to stay within the lines, and not to cross the line.

Any 8 year old who cannot make the correct decision given the info above deserves correction so that they understand what is expected of them in the future, and the consequences for *not* meeting expectations.

In short, I don't know the drivers motivation and before I even ask, or presume, or otherwise form any expectation, I would ask him (driver) if he asked (or told) the student to stop. If he said yes and the student refused, I would hold the student accountable regardless whether the video showed any interesting facial expressions, etc.
