No kidding. I saw that too. How awful. Not a good year for Batman...Heath Ledger dies shortly after wrapping up his part as the Joker, and now this with the Batman ride...

Well, how stupid was that kid to climb over 2 fences into a restricted area for a hat he lost? (rhetorical question, of course) I'm not saying he deserved decapitation, but I can't believe that no one stopped him -- either his friends or bystanders. Or common sense.

From what I've read, it doesn't sound like there was much time to stop him. Apparently one of his friends scaled the fences with him, but with a lot better outcome.

News I read said, that it was not for a hat but he was trying to get back to the front of the line quicker than others, so I assume he had just ridden this ride b4 dying.
