The company Fucked up didn't give the 60 days notice required by federal law. The company didn't make payments on their loans. This is BOA fault?!?!?!
So someone at BOA actually did their job saw the company going down, saw them not making payments on their loan and did a GOOD business decision and pulled their credit line.
Isn't bad loans what got us started in this financial mess in the first place??? Do you think BOA is not going to try to recoup the loses after the sale of assets by not charging higher rates or fees to other business and consumers increasing their costs? Is this fair too those businesses because a company didn't do what it was suppose to and instead of letting the bank do the correct thing; it caved to pressure even though it did the RIGHT thing business wise.
Have to agree. There's no reason for the bank to have to get involved. What should happen is that the owner should have to pay up. If he doesn't, start auctioning off hardware, facilities, and property to pay the people. Someone gets a good deal on equipment and land, and the people get their paychecks.
I tell you, if I didn't get paid, I'm going to find a way to steal something or extract my paycheck in another manner.
Thats what I did... I stole a Mac IIci with a 250 MB hard drive and 8 MB of ram.... a monitor, keyboard and a mouse... pulled up to the loading dock and put it in my trunk.

That's one way to make sure they don't find the illicit photos.pez wrote:Thats what I did... I stole a Mac IIci with a 250 MB hard drive and 8 MB of ram.... a monitor, keyboard and a mouse... pulled up to the loading dock and put it in my trunk.
Seriously though, I'm a bit surprised they didn't prepare for that. I would think most places escort laid off employees to the door. I suppose if it's an entire plant shutting down, that's not feasible.

I remember when I turned in my 2 week notice at one of my other haunts, the next day the manager called me in and said he was letting me go (with pay) for the next two weeks...and from there he walked me over to my office and watched me clean out my stuff to make sure I didn't take any of the company's stuff. Of course any cool trinket stuff was long gone by then.Markwes wrote:That's one way to make sure they don't find the illicit photos.pez wrote:Thats what I did... In most cases, that is what we do... if you give two week notice, we invite you to take that two weeks at home...

lessee...
I can't recall whether I've ever taken anything from an employer of any value. When I did take something home, I made sure I worked out a deal that If I was going to take a computer or monitor home, I was writing a check for it. When I worked for Dana, after 17 of the computers that were off lease got replaced, I encouraged the mgmt staff to have a garage sale. Another coworker and I reloaded the pc's with microsoft and then we bundled them with some of the old keyboards, a mouse and monitor. Almost all of them were sold to employees for $100 a pkg. The ones with doubled memory (512 MB) went for $110 or $125. I dunno, I got one with 512 but paid $100. Whoo dem perks!
Once I "borrowed" an extra copy of windows 2000 server, but never really "took" them because they were never loaded onto any other computer. There was like 30 copies of each laying around in unopened boxes after Microsoft forced Deloitte to audit Dana's IT software purchases. Whoo, exciting eh?
Also, I've never had people steal more than at the corporate offices of an (unnamed) employer. It seemed like wireless cards, and USB storage keys were the most popular.
However, in the case of the factory in Chicago If they didn't get the money from BOA, I think they should have taken *only* the windows out of the factory.
