Ohio man charged after being accused of running hooker-review website

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Police in Columbus, Ohio have arrested a man they say was responsible for a website where customers could post reviews of prostitutes.
Robert Eric McFadden is accused of trading information about online escorts and prostitutes who worked the streets, including a 17-year-old girl. Police say he also helped organize a $10-a-ticket raffle that offered an evening with a prostitute.
The 46-year-old McFadden was arrested Wednesday and faces numerous charges, including compelling prostitution involving a minor.
McFadden formerly served as director of the Faith-Based and Community Initiatives office under Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland.

The potential jokes here are aplenty, but I have to ask an actual question. Other than the fact that a 17 year old is involved, and I would even question that charge if he wasn't aware of her age, what has he actually done that breaks the law? And yet the feds can't do anything about the 22 year old selling her virginity to online bidders. There must be more to it.

I think if he provided a service whereby people knowingly provided information about prostitutes that were "operating" in an area where prostitution is illegal. Maybe he violated some form of interpretation of Terms Of Service through one of his service providers. Maybe for activity in out-of-state areas... even one tiny little infraction across state lines becomes Federal jurisdiction.

Maybe he could have just put the site on a server in the Netherlands, or somesuch... rookie.

Just wondering what federal law you are referring to. It just says he "helped organize" it, not profited from it. I'm not condoning what he did, just trying to understand the law. Like I said, how is it that the lady auctioning off her body online is perfectly legal?
