Warren County, OH to Obama: "Keep Your Filthy Money!"

"I understand the federal government should be doing some spending in a down economy," said Young.

"But, it should be on big projects like highway improvements. We might not like deficit spending, but at least we could live with it if the funds were being used for those things. To use it for vans? That's crazy."

Maybe it's just me, but I challenge the governmental understanding who characterizes the TARP funds as "Obama's filthy money." Secondly, what this person doesnt understand is that the entire point of having each county spend money is that they will spend that money buying American made products and thus make a small dent toward job creation...

While I find this kind of pointless political grandstanding amusing, the guy is clearly missing the point.

I don't understand why they would want to give back this particular part of the stimulus money. I understand why states are reluctant to take the unemployment portion.

That increase the states burden in the future as taking that requires states to pay out more, pay part timers (which many states don't). So it causes the states that take that money to raise unemployment taxes to cover the funds in the future when the federal gov't money stops and it is back on the states 100%.
