Wow -- Snipes received 3 years jail time for not filing tax returns for 3 years, the maximum sentence.

Card, don't know if you ever heard back from those clients that didn't want to file, but if you did, here's their example of what NOT to do.

I can't say that I feel sorry for him.

I agree ... if you and I pay our taxes then by god people making millions should. Oh, this will probably hijack this thread too ... I hope not!

hehehehe... my boss is the one who hasn't filed.. for well over 3 years. But the big difference is that he has paid in his tax liability, he just hasn't filed because he's an idiot in that regard.

Wesley as I understand it wasn't paying in anything, that's why he's in jail. Tax evasion.

Why wasn't Willie Nelson tossed in jail for not paying his? He was allowed to pay back the liabilty.

I'm being lazy and not researching this, but I thought Willy Nelson had filed his tax returns. He just utilized a tax shelter or tax planning that the IRS deemed fraudulent.

There's a BIG difference between filing a return using a fraudulent position, and not filing a return at all.
