Tim Russert Dead at 58

Just saw this on CNN in the office. Died of a heart attack. Very sad. I really liked the guy.

Sad ... never know when your time is up, and he probably never got to say goodbye to his loved ones.

I speculate David Gregory will be the next host of MTP.

That's why I really do try to let the people I care about know where they stand with me. Sounds sappy, but I don't care. I lost a father in-law suddenly, and I'm just glad that he knows how much I thought of him.

BTW, I care about you all!

I actually liked him as a political journalist. Watched Meet the Press just to see him and thought he was very fair with his guests.

I have to say that if I heard that one of you here was gone, it would sadden me. We don't know each other face to face, but we do interact quite a bit. My sadness would be for your families, b/c most of us have childfren and all of us have someone who loves us and would miss us.

So I too, care about you all.

Loved watching him, he was an expert at calling out politicians from both sides. As far as an interviewer, he made King look like an amatuer. Watching Tim, you knew you would hear the truth, I for one will miss him.

Wow, I can't believe that. I watch "Meet the Press" almost every week. Just like most people, I found him to be a generally fair and likable interviewer. Sad day, indeed.

Saw last night that he was at work, taping his show for Sunday when he died. He died doing what he loved, what he was passionate about.

i liked him too. he did get at the truth..and called alot of politicians out on their lies..or as some would say, on their efforts to deny what they really said in the past ;-)

Anybody else see some of the ceremonies remembering Tim Russert or any of the multitude of specials on NBC or MSNBC? All were very well done. Still hard to believe he's gone. His enthusiam for politics will be missed this election year.

I heard the presumptive nominees for the Republican and Democratic parties sat next to each other during the funeral service. I think it was at the request of the family. The two actually embraced afterward from what I heard. Touching.
