So much for the price of gas trickling down. What's the paranoia increase going to be this time, 30 cents?

Isn't that what Jugo just said? Maybe I'm reading it wrong. If I am, report me to the Department of the Redundantcy Department...

I'll still take my paid off gas guzzler (well, technically a mini-van is probably not a guzzler) over 5 more years of $350 payments on a new economy car.

Same here. My car (Concorde) gets decent gas mileage (19 city, 28 hwy), but our van is a full-size one that gets maybe 15 on the highway. But, they're both paid off, and in good running condition...so why add an unnecessary expense? It would take years to "even up" on the gas. We just don't drive the van very much around town, opting to take the car instead. Luckily the whole family can still fit into. Now, when #4 arrives later this year, it'll be a different story (unless we put the oldest one in the trunk and strap her down good and tight! Twisted Evil ).

Now, if one of the automakers gets ahead of the curve and starts making hybrid full-size vans that you can afford without having to rob a bank, they'd be on to something!

Don't you think it would go higher than .30 cents?

I guess I am still confused about their logic.

Canada is the top exporter of crude oil to the US.

LTRT, your gas is still cheaper than I pay here, I am over the $5.00 mark per gallon. scratch

Now with the price of gas like this.

Would you guys consider buying the Zenn?

http://www.zenncars.com/

It is a car made by a Canadian company. Not intended for long hauls, I think more practical for city stuff. Just plug into a wall and it will charge.

Funny thing is the government of Ontario won't allow it on Ontario's roads.

I think it is available in Quebec, British Columbia, 46 US states and Europe.

Oil is only up $1.20 right now.. it appears the street doesn't believe this will be an issue, I think Iran is a bigger issue on Oil than a hurricane at the moment.

Anyone else annoyed that a $15 drop in oil resulted in a $.05 drop in gas prices?

I like it (Zenn Car)...I'd just be worried about being hit by something A LOT BIGGER and then having to go thru the rest of my life with a permanent 4 wheeler (wheelchair). But I guess if I just used it for around town at speeds of 45 mph or less (like going to work, grocery store, etc), it wouldn't be too bad, would it?

Just wait and see if the storm/hurricane hits. Their tune will change and they will blame that.

The US buys little or no oil from Iran. Iran supplies China and other countries with their oil.

Iran changed the currency for selling their oil from USD to Euros.

http://www.globalpolicy.org/socecon/crisis/tradedeficit/2007/0412attackdollar.htm

Well, with that car there is no gas, the smart car uses gas.
A car like that is good for city driving I think.

LTRT, having a larger vehicle doesn't mean it is safer. I am making the assumption that is why you won't buy a small car. Correct me if I am wrong please.

ROANOKE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - After weeks of above 4 dollars a gallon you'll find a handful of area stations selling gas for under that now.

Early this morning, the Lassus Handy-Dandy in Roanoke lowered their prices to 3.98 a gallon. The two competing stations on US-24 often have prices among the lowest in the area. With most Fort Wayne stations still around 4.08, 3.98 seemed like a relative bargain in Roanoke.

Diane Ciesielski of Fort Wayne said, “I was driving past and I saw 3.98, what a bargain, I just had to top off my tank.” Nicole Barnes says, “I drive everyday between Huntington and Fort Wayne and I spend 70 dollars a week, that's about 1/4th of my paycheck, I don't think they'll stay down, but I’m glad they're here now.”

Many gasoline analysts feel the big drop in crude oil prices last week should have led to a bigger drop at the pumps than what we've seen.

This is sad, very sad that American people work so hard and get paid so little, that this woman (Nicole) is thrilled that gas prices are down to $3.98/gal. She is working for $7/hour and commuting from Huntington to Fort Wayne for this job. SAD ... I won't make this a political thread, but we need change ... we need hope. lol hehehehe I just had too!
