Seriously.. her argument for driving a Hummer to a rally against McCain and big oil is that she needed to carry a lot of stuff? What an idiot.

Can I be crude and superficial and make a comment about her hair?

It looks like she's going for the skunk look...

Very Happy

Glenn Beck... I DO read him from time to time. Just some random thoughts... on why he's irritating to read and (I feel) an insult to my intelligence.

- driving naked won't save nearly 3%
- It is NOT a fact that 66% of America keeps their tires inflated and performs regular scheduled maintainance.
- The U.S. Minerals Management Service is NOT a reliable source for how many "estimated" barrels of oil are hidden beneath protected coastal drilling areas. I dare say there are no authoritative sources for the "unknown".
- saying "But, facts aside" does not make what is said prior to, a fact
- McCain's campaign DID made fun of his statements about tire pressure and regular maintainance, they DID NOT make fun of his gas tax holiday position
- NOT using the heater in a car will NOT improve gas mileage, air conditioning... maybe
- it's impossible to prove whether driving naked will improve gas mileage, it's a crime.
- buying a hybrid will not improve gas mileage... it will reduce consumption. hint: you can only drive one car at a time.
- "we ought to" is not exactly the same as "but if everyone", one is a suggested change the other is a comparison between current and future unknown optimums
- wearing extra layers of clothing in the winter and turning the thermostat down 4 degrees WILL save a significant amount of energy
- we can not drill for, and pump enough oil to free us from foreign oil when we're still using oil as a primary transportation energy source. ever.
- this article criticizes both candidates, and in summary the main point is that drilling is the solution

I still think being conservation-minded and making an effort, or trying, to reduce energy consumption without going to extremes is a very sustainable ideal. Compare this to an argument encouraging excessive waste.

I'm just sayin...
