John Edwards repeatedly lied during his Presidential campaign about an extra-marital affair with a novice film-maker, the former Senator admitted to ABC News today.

Them democrats just can't keep it in their pants. Probably won't be much of a news story b/c the Olympics will take center stage for awhile and the story will be buried. If this would have been a Republican, you can bet the farm it would be the top story in the MSM.

David Vitter, a sitting US Senator, had an affair with one of the DC Madam's prostitutes and wore diapers but I don't think the MSM made that great big of a deal out of it. Trust me, Hardball, Fox News, CNN, and all of the evening channels will be running this story. His chance of VP or Attorney General are SUNK and deservably so.

I guess now we really know the reason he wouldn't agree to be the democratic candidate's running mate. I thought it was b/c of the riggers of the '04 campaign and the health of his wife, but I guess not. I agree Bman his chances are sunk for A.G., which I thought he would have a real shot at.

Both sides of the aisle get caught in these affairs. The only reason Edwards might get more coverage is because he was the VP candidate last election and a presidential candidate this year. The reason Vitter didn't get much attention is because he is from Louisiana and with all the trouble the elected officials get into down their Vitter hiring a prostitute doesn't even compare.

i.e. former governor Edwards still in prison. Cold cash Rep. Jefferson, David Duke just a few examples.

From the sounds of it, it would appear that depending on which party you support makes you prone to having an affair. LOL.

after reading the reports a few times i got curious and googled..wound up watching some vids on youtube. they are mainly from when the alleged mistress was producing vids while on the plane with edwards and others in the press etc. yea theres plenty cut out, but the whole vid would be interesting and could debunk to his advantage. if he doesnt release the whole vids fairly soon i think these will bite him. i also checked out his web page, and there are several vids he promotes there that do not show when you click to watch them...seemed odd because some others do? why not remove the title or link or whatever if they are no longer available?

i went into this thinking this was the usual national enquirer-type reporting and was rather sure anything i found..which would surely amount to nothing..would be about as well-proven as the non-existant tape with michelle obama angrily spouting off about whitey.

surprisingly i got a definate vibe from edwards body language and general tone during the tapes that leave some doubt in my mind that its all a sham. i chalked it up to excitement and being pumped up about the appearance he just left or was about to make..understandable to me. but it wore thin after a while and i am now thinking there may be something to it. there are a series of 4 vids the woman made called "plane truths" .....the only real question is whether is rielle or josh inspiring his flirty humor

ok i dont get a couple things.

he says the affair lasted a matter of months in 2006. told his wife all about it after it ended. so it has long been old news to her. she campaigned with and for him, knowingly participating in the cover up of the little misstep. or...did he just recently tell her, as some net news seems to imply?

the other thing...john admits going to the hotel where it happened the woman and her baby had arrived at...but he wasnt there to see her, he was there to see a guy pal? soooo back to my cheeky comment of---is it the woman or the boy toy josh who was putting john in such a flirty mindset?

and why is it news?? same reason it always is when someone who presents themselves a a beacon of morality and "family values" cant walk the walk. if you arent curious dont watch it

Well, at least he wasn't supporting laws oppressing gays while having a gay affair. I suppose that's up to the Republicans to handle.
