Rock on Rep. Frank, leave it to the states and let the Fed monies go to better uses. Probably all the southern states will oppose, because 'interdicting' the stream of Cannabis coming from Mexico is a great revenue boost.

I say legalize it.

Cigarettes and alcohol are legal, why not this?

Exactly, the pragmatic scientific comparison between these two legal drugs and Cannabis is a no brainer. However, I seriously doubt you'll be able to get the old crowd that remembers the prohibition, and propaganda films, etc. to agree because (as I understand) the idea was pushed that Cannabis is much worse because of the fear that it was a "gateway to heroin" and other hard drugs. To that I would say then why aren't cigarettes and Alcohol causing people to run out and buy Heroin?

I don't have a problem with the idea, but why make possession legal if selling it is still illegal? It should be all or nothing.

I'm just guessing, and I don't have that much specific info but I'm educated on it and I'll tell you what I think. It could be grown, since limiting the number of plants is stupid agriculturally, because of the concept of yield, they want the federal law to say it this way. It seems to me that technically the (drug) isn't in usable form until it's dried so, you can have some growing and have up to 100 grams dried.

Oh, and I doubt that African Americans are the "biggest" users but they seem to feel they are stereotyped unfairly as being the "biggest" users. I can accept that as a truism, but cannot prove it being true. I doubt anyone could prove that, some may try. ... which reminds me of a poem by Shel Silverstein...

Isn't it ironic when you hear non-smokers talking about smoking freedoms? One would ASSume that only users champion the cause for self-centered priorities rather than looking at the issues objectively.

I wouldn't go as far as saying I am "championing the cause"
We know the effects of cigarettes and alcohol on our societies and they are legal. I don't see how marijuana is any different.
People make a choice to smoke, drink etc. I choose not to.
