Will a National Health Care bill pass more easily if presented as an homage to Ted Kennedy?
Re: Health Care Bill / Ted Kennedy
yes definately. public option will be reality, i believe before 2010. and rightly so.

Isn't it a bit blasphemous to use the term Hell in that question?

Actually, you get the question I can more easily answer by replacing "Will" with "Should".

I said "yes" but not that I think it should. I guess it depends how much glory they shower on dear Ted.
I personally think anyone who accidentially kills a girl and gets away with it because his family is rich and well connected, regardless of what he did the rest of his life, is exactly like an escaped convict. It sets a poor example that our judicial system doesn't rehabilitate, and it doesn't have to. (snicker)

kinda like morning joe without the lake?
there was an investigation done tho. no doubt being rich helped, just like it has always helped the rich kids. (example..where are bushes service records) but i chose not to assume the worst of what was probably unknown..like that it was a conspired intentional murder.

Agreed, they were probably having some good natured fun, with much alcohol. Back then it wasn't taboo to drink and drive. None of that I can blame him for, however the botched investigation was more to the discredit of the LEOs involved than Kennedy, surely the outcome was influenced either indirectly or directly by the Kennedy family or their reputation.

I think it would be better to name the new National Socialistic Health care plan the RONALD REAGAN HEALTH CARE PLAN FOR ALL. Then some RWW's would be jumping on the bandwagon like when they tried to get him added to Mount Rushmore or when Mark Souder tried to put him on the dime. lol

i have been thinking about this subject. i recall from waaay back in the early-70's a close friend of mines daughter, maybe kindergarten age, was hit and killed by a drunk driver who also happened to be a friend. she was walking along the edge of the street near the front of her house on a low-traffic side street. horrible tragedy. legally there was a ticket to the driver for something like being careless. pay your fine and get a little slap on the wrist. thats how it was back then. folks driving drunk werent punished the way they are now.
then i fast forward to several years ago, when there was an accident in rural columbia city. i dont recall who the driver was or who the victim was. the driver was prominent in the community..politician or lawyer or some kind of influential position. his blood alcohol level was right about at whatever the limit for that time was. the victim was just a family man who lived near where the accident occured. the victim was our riding his bike and it was proven he was off the actual road a supposedly safe distance. the driver was charged with "driver innatention" and paid a fine. period. i was kinda disgusted..if it had been the big wig riding his bike and the average family man who hit and killed him--whether drunk or not--would he have been treated the same? there was a similar situation in fort wayne at the time--within months before or after-- with exactly the same charges leveled against that driver.
