Hey Palin took the gloves off in her speech, she is free game now. She better hole up in Alaska for more than a week and get up to speed on issues. Issues other than when the PTA meets, or garbage pick up in Wasilla. Maybe she should return some of those sex ed books back to the library too, maybe her daughter could have checked them out and avoided her problem.

Let's see, he voted against the Persian Gulf War. He voted for the Iraq War. And this is the guy Obama is relying on to add credibility to his foreign affairs??? Never mind the fact we'll probably be going to war with India soon after he's in office b/c he hates that you have to have an Indian accent when you go into a 7-11 or Dunkin Donuts.

I guess your definition of 'platform' is different than mine. When a candidate speaks for the first time since being announced as a running mate and says she's a mother of 5, to me she is just telling us about herself - introductions. I found the beginning of Biden's speech from NPR:

Beau, I love you. I am so proud of you. Proud of the son you are. Proud of the father you've become. And I'm so proud of my son Hunter, my daughter, Ashley, and my wife, Jill, the only one who leaves me breathless and speechless at the same time.

Am I to take from this that he is running on the platform of his family?

I'm with Cincy Fan on this. In the event that something happens to McCain, then she has to take over for at most 4 years. This hasn't happened since Nixon right? But for argument's sake, let's assume this does happen. Is the Earth going to stop revolving? Let's not act like she is going to have the ability to suddenly change every law to appease the religious right. She doesn't have an agenda to make school prayer mandatory as soon as she gets in. Yet we have 15 pages of alternating bashing and defending her.

Just like I believe it was LTRT months ago who said that he only had to OK with McCain for 4 years then he try someone else. Seems like LTRT does not think McCain is the answer either.

You don't hear Pez, Florida or me have ANY doubts about whether or not Barack Obama is right for America. That is the difference here, Obama supporters are excited and going to turn out in HUGE numbers and McCain just simply has NO excitement around him. He needs some viagra to jump start his excitement.

I think the war votes are significant. The Persian Gulf War by all accounts that I remember was a rousing success...and he was against it. Maybe he was for parts of it, but there were other parts that he didn't like, so that was why he voted against it? I don't know.

And for months during the primary, all we heard from Barack was how right he was about Iraq and voting no on it. But here his running mate voted for it, and Biden is supposed to be the one to add foreign affairs credibility to the ticket, is he not? Or is to get the old white guy vote?

As for the 7-11/Dunkin Donuts comment...yep, just half kidding. He actually did say that about having to have an accent to go into one. If McCain or Palin had said that, the Obama Thumpers would be all over them for it.
