Tea Party stance

ok...

I'm not sure who is an authority on mainstream Tea Party platforms, however I'm somewhat confused by their stance. They seem to want no debt, and tax cuts. So the only thing left is to cut spending. While everyone thinks we need to cut spending, it's actually more politically difficult to cut spending than it is to raise taxes. Does anyone know what exactly is the platform here?

There's so much BS surrounding the tea party that I cant figure out what they actually stand for, and if there are seeds of legitimacy in there, or if they are just all lunatic fringe.

I'm no expert on their stance, but personally, I think your formula could be tweaked. Before we can worry about cutting spending, we need to stop increasing spending. That's my biggest issue with this administration, and I believe that is what has prompted the tea party movement.

But cutting taxes is the same as increasing spending ... will you return your tax cuts from the Bush era if we stop increasing spending?

This was the lead editorial in today's JG. Since my daily ritual is to read the JG opinion page during my morning decompression, I did get to read it all. The author has a spectacular idea, but blew it later in the piece when he postulated that all whites are conservative and blacks are liberal. I was kinda bummed about it, because he started getting too big picture and ruined the credibility of his original premise, that if a assembly of armed black men descended on the capitol it would be treated very differently than the tea party would be... then he got into a bunch of weaker stuff about Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh that really weakened his argument...

I'm as white as they come, and recognize that a larger assembly of armed black men within sight of the capitol would be treated differently than the tea party, but would defend a hypothetical black Limbaugh and black Coulter's right to make asses of themselves.

from one who watches them closely and is concerned about the potential of hate-based violence/tyranny potential in the name of an exciting revolution for a do-over of the civil war, i would say
if you believe wholeheartedly old elected men should decide women cannot get to use the legal right of choice, believe the nation should follow biblical guideline about homasessuality but not about shellfish, are a gun carrying (at democrat events only), isolationist, war loving person ignorant of actual (as opposed to pro-unAmeican revisionist spin) facts of national and foreign affairs that you're not a "Real" American....then you are a proud purity enhanced teapartybagger.
